Sunday boat - Myeik archipelago
In Myeik they are offering one boat per week (every Sunday) to one of their amazing islands for one day - 50 dollars for every foreigner and 1300 Kyat for every local! On the boat there were 7 foreigners and the rest locals, since most tourists don't make it this far south and those who do are mostly looking for the border crossing to Thailand. Anyway, me and Romeo met two really cool people in our guest house who we took company with to the island - Tom from England and Anna from Germany, they were both solo travelers but like me and Romeo they met a few days ago and traveled together for a little while!
The boat to the island took about two hours, then we arrived to chrystal clear blue water and white sand beach :) The funny part was that since basically no local person can swim (neither can Romeo) there were basically just me, Tom, Anna and a handful of other people in the water, the rest were just sitting at the beach! It was a beautiful day anyway, even though I would have loved to explore more islands! They told us it was possible to stay a night with a tent on the beach if we wanted to, for 300 dollars per person....................
