The Beatles Ashram in Rishikesh
En dag i Rishikesh tog mamma och jag en promenad upp till The Beatles ashram - ashramet där gruppen The Beatles besökte på 60-talet. Deras besök gjorde Rishikesh känt och har sedan dess varit Indiens yoga-stad! Tydligen skrev The Beatles ett flertal av deras riktigt kända låtar på det här ashramet under deras tid där, och några av de återvände flera gånger! Det här enorma ashramet övergavs för 20 år sedan så det känns som att vandra runt i en spökstad, allting står öppet så det är bara att vandra in i alla hus, rum, badrum... Toaletter och liknande står liksom kvar, även den enorma yoga-hall där John Lennon höll till! Är ni i RIshikesh så kika in här, det var väldigt intressant!

One day in Rishikesh mom and I went to see The Beatles ashram - the ashram where the band stayed at back in the 60's. The Beatles put Rishikesh on the map by visiting the city and since then its been known as India's yoga town! Apparentely they wrote a lot of songs during their time there which bacame some of their most popular songs and some of them returned to this ashram. This massive ashram was abandoned about 20 years ago so it felt like walking around a ghost city. Everything is still there and in some of the rooms there are toilets and tables. Even the massive yoga hall where John Lennon were in is sitll there. There are no guides or anything so you just walk around there alone and can enter which of the houses you want! If you want to go to Rishikesh, go and see this place too. It was very interesting!
