Alleppey
Tänkte bara kika in och säga hej, vi kom precis fram till staden Alleppey här i södra Kerala - vi tog oss hit med lokalbuss från Cochin som tog oss cirka två timmar och möttes av en galet intensiv man så fort vi gick av bussen. Han var bestämd på att vi skulle med till hans hostel och han vägrade ge sig förrän vi gick med på att i alla fall titta på det. Så till slut delade vi upp oss så Philippe och Moran åkte med den galne mannen, Ben och jag med en annan kille som tipsade om ett hostel och Grady satt på en restaurang och vaktade våra väskor. När Ben och jag kom fram till hostelet vår kille tog oss till så insåg vi att det var samma hostel som hostelägaren i Cochin tipsat oss om att vi borde bo på, och det var riktigt mysigt med små stugor som man bodde i. Vi ringde över resten och nu är vi här! Imorgon ska vi göra den populära turen med att bo på en husbåt över en natt och få åka genom Alleppeys kanaler - det är Keralas största turistattraktion så nu ska vi få se hur fantastiskt det är! Kanalerna har ett unikt ekosystem - sötvatten från sjöar möter saltvatten från de arabiska haven, mer om detta efter vår natt på husbåten :)

Just thought I should check in and say hi, we just arrived in the city called Alleppey here in South Kerala - we got here with a local bus from Cochin that took about two hours and the first thing we meet when leaving the bus was a crazy man! He had already decided not to let us go until we agreed to check out his hostel so in the end we decided to split up, so Moran and Philippe went with the crazy man while me and Ben went with another guy to see his hostel and Grady watched our bags at a restaurant. When Ben and I arrived at the hostel we realized it was the same one that the hostel owner in Cochin recommended us to go to, so we called the other guys over and now here we are! Tomorrow we're heading out on the popular tourist attraction (actually the most popular one in Kerala) - a one night cruise on the backwaters. The backwaters have a unique ecosystem - freshwater from the rivers meets the seawater from the Arabian Sea. More about this after our cruise tomorrow :)
