'Ojämlikhet är enbart rättfärdigat om det gynnar de sämst ställda.' Så säger Rawls differensprincip - John Rawls var en amerikansk filosof som jag läst mycket om denna hösten. Jag fann denna mening så extremt vettig och detta är vad jag själv vill leva efter. Som jag skrev i inlägget innan detta har Sverige (och många andra länder i Europa) blivit bemötta av en sorts fattigdom som vi inte sett tidigare, det är de fattiga romer från bland annat Rumänien som kommer från ett liv i total misär. De söker sig till de rikare länderna i Europa för hjälp och hopp om ett bättre liv. De sitter utanför butiker, shoppingcentrum, bankomater och liknande och tigger från morgon till kväll och sover sedan i tält i skogen (om ens det). Alla pengar de får ihop skickar de sedan via Western Union till deras familjer som är kvar hemma. Många negativa reaktioner på detta har dykt upp (antiziganism) - nazister attackerar romska tältläger i skogen, skär sönder deras tält och andra tillgångar och skrämmer iväg dem, anklagar romerna för 'organiserat tiggeri' utan några som helst belägg (alltså att romerna egentligen inte är fattiga utan låtsas bara för att utnyttja oss snälla, rika människor som ger dem pengar) och länder som Frankrike, Danmark och Norge har till och med försökt förbjuda tiggeri. INGEN människa sätter sig och tigger om de har något annat val, många av dem är analfabet (kan inte läsa eller skriva) och pratar varken svenska eller engelska eftersom majoriteten av dem inte gått i skolan. Jag har blivit nära vän med en romsk familj från Rumänian och jag, tillsammans med en grupp människor, försöker nu hjälpa dem med att samla ihop pengar till deras hyra för huset i Rumänien. Vi har även lyckats få in dem i ett kollektiv nu så de inte behöver sova utomhus, där spenderar jag även en dag i veckan och försöker lära dem svenska! 'Inequalities are only permitted if it works to the advantage of the worst-off' That's Rawls Difference principle - Johm Rawls was an American philosopher who I've been reading a lot about this fall. I found this sentence extremely true and is something I want to continue to live after. As I wrote in the post before this one, Sweden (and many other countries in Europe) have been overwhelmed by a new kind of poorness many people here haven't seen before - it's roma people from mainly Romania but also from other countries around Europe like Slovakia, Turkey and more who come to richer countries in Europe to seek help from their life in misery. They beg for money outside supermarkets, shopping malls, ATMs and more from morning until evening and sleep in tents in the forest (if even that, many of them even sleep on the street). They send all the money they earn through Western Union to their families back home. A lot of negative reactions about these people has shown (antiziganizm) - nazists destroy roma camps with knifes and chases the people away, accusing the roma people of 'organized begging' which means that they are faking the poorness to trick us nice, rich people for money, and many people just thinks that its not our responsability. Countries like France, Norway and Denmark even want to forbid begging. NO person chooses to beg for money on the street if they had any other choice, many of them can't read, write or speak either English or Swedish, since the majority of these people haven't gone to school. I've become close friends with a poor Romanian family and I am, together with a group of people, trying to help them by collecting money to pay their house rent in Romania. We have even fixed a room in a house for three of them who are here in Sweden to beg, so now they don't have to sleep outside (the woman, Zina is 21 years old and pregnant in the 5th month).
