Mandalay
Mingarlabar! So, here I sit again! At the same hotel where I stayed when I just arrived in Yangon exactly four weeks ago - my Burma trip is almost over for this time, going to the airport in a few hours! It's crazy how quickly this month have gone by, it has been an amazing experience and I have enjoyed so many moments here and also got a completely new understanding for this country and its people :) I still have a few hours left though, so now I will write about my final days in Burma - starting with Mandalay, the big city of central Burma! Most backpackers I've run into here has told me not to got to Mandalay since its just a big hectic city, but I like getting my own opinion and I happened to like this city!
I Only stayed two days but ended up in a really nice hostel (or maybe not the cleanest place but the people working there were all so lovely and friendly!) I basically strolled around for two days, went to the cinema and got myself another longyie fixed (local traditional skirts) with help from the ladies at the hostel! After two days I got the bus to Bagan, really wanted to take the boat on Irrawaddy river but the local boats only run like two days a week, so the only boat option they had was the speed boat 'made for tourists' for 45 dollars.. No thanks!
Spent a whole afternoon in a shop with these three lovely girls :)
